Kitsilano, BC
I love those childhood friends, who are like sisters, even if you don’t see each other for years. A few weeks ago, I traveled up to Idaho to be reunited with just such friends – Bekah and Bethany. It had been three years since we’d last seen each other, and now I was meeting Bekah’s fiancé, Ben, and preparing to photograph their wedding, all the while trying to catch up on the past three years.
It was a joy and an honour to photograph their wedding day, and I could not be happier about the groom Bekah chose. It’s impossible not to see the joy and comfort they have in each other’s love. Ben is also an incredible photographer; one of his photos was just published on the cover of Climbing magazine, which you can see here. You can check out the rest of his work here.
The wedding day was a beautiful spring day, the clouds parting just in time for the wedding. Bekah and Ben were the most relaxed couple I’ve ever seen on their wedding day. I showed up at Bekah’s apartment in the morning to find her, the bride, perfectly calm and doing everyone else’s hair. Quite amazing. Ben and Bekah knew how to let go and just fully enjoy their day however it unfolded, and so it was a day filled with joy, celebration, laughter, dancing, family, friends, and lots of fun.
I so enjoyed being a part of this day and this celebration. Ben and Bekah have surrounded themselves with amazing people who are an absolute joy to be around. I love you both and wish you all the best as you begin your married life together.
Enjoy the photos!

Katey, those are awsome.
Summertime is here! I love that the sun has finally decided to stay out, that when I step outside I’m greeted by a nice warm breeze blowing through the valley and rustling the leaves which have filled the once barren trees. It’s wonderful to see the warm summer light dancing on everything it meets.
As it’s summertime, and I can focus more on photography, I realized it was time for a little update.

One chilly Saturday morning in January, I headed out with my girls (minus one) for a photo shoot. I love all of these girls dearly, have been so blessed by living with them this year, and cannot imagine not having them in my life even though just six months ago, I didn’t. They are all so beautiful with big hearts for the Lord. I had a grand time gallivanting around Fort Langley with them for a couple hours capturing them.
And so, without further ado, the lovely ladies of 4X:
Bri
Taryn
Alicia
Maryke
Jillian
Rachel
Tara
Mikaela
Katrina
They snapped a few shots of me.
Kathleen
Jenna
Lian
And the result of having some fun with a tripod and self-timer. :)
What fun!
Very nicely done and I’m thrilled that they captured you as well!
