Rachelle: Portraits

Two weeks ago, Rachelle and I had to re-schedule her shoot because it was pouring down rain, so we were quite pleased when Ashland greeted us with gorgeous light and a beautiful sunny day early this week. I had a great time running around Ashland with Rachelle and poking around new alleys. I love how the photos of Rachelle turned out! She is so beautiful and there are some great photos of her laughing so keep an eye out for those ones because they’ll make you smile.

They are all so good. So beautiful. How will you ever pick one out for the yearbook?

Hannah: Portraits

Hannah’s photo shoot was so much fun and it shows in the photos. When we were trying to figure out where to do the photo shoot, Hannah told me that she really wanted some photos on a playground and swings. I loved that idea, so off we went to Ashland. We started with some playground shots there and later discovered another playground down by the railroad tracks, where there were not quite so many kids.

Hannah has such a sweet and fun personality. We don’t have any classes together this year, so it was nice to spend some time with her. I think the photos capture her personality well and I just love–absolutely love–the fun-ness (making up words is so fun) that the playground brings into them.

My favorite is the one in the swing. Katelyn you are so gifted at capturing personalities. And Hannah, you are beautiful inside and out.

Lane Hall: Headshots

A week ago, I met up with Mrs. O, who I used to TA for and who happens to be a writer and Lane Hall, a very gifted artist here in the valley. I had the privilege of shooting Lane’s headshots. The whole shoot was fun and a challenge for me as it was all new. Since we were just doing headshots, I had 10 minutes and I had decided to do the shoot inside. I’ve been wanting to try shooting portraits with just window light for some time now, and thanks to Mrs. O and Lane, I was able to and I love how they turned out!

After you look at the photos, you should all hop on over to thetaosgallery.com and click on “Gallery on the Green.” Two of Lane’s pieces are in a show in Taos, NM and they are beautiful, so be sure to take a look.

This one isn’t exactly a headshot, but I think it captures him well and I love the light in it.

Hey, great work! I just put a couple of these on my Facebook page and gave you the byline of course. What a nice personal touch with your shoots! I love that you talk about it and your subjects. And thanks too for the Taos plug. He found out he’s won an award of some kind down there. We just don’t know which one yet. We’ll be headed down there April 25th to see for ourselves and promote his work in Santa Fe and Taos. Keep shining through, my friend! Love, Peggy O.

Taylor | Portraits

Once again, I bundled up for what I thought would be a cold shoot. When I was driving to the shoot the sky was white with clouds that had been there all day. Suddenly, just a few minutes before Taylor showed up, the sun burst forth in all it’s glory and scared the clouds away. I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised considering this is Oregon and I’ve lived here all my life, but I was surprised and was a bit too warm with all my layers on.

This was my first photo shoot in downtown Medford. There are so many great little places around town to shoot that I’d love to do another shoot there because I didn’t come close to shooting in all those places with Taylor. I had a great time with Taylor running up and down the train tracks, exploring the backs of building (where some unknown liquid dropped on my head much to my abhorance), and then running off to Taylor Rd. where we finished up the shoot. Taylor was fun to photograph and has such a sweet personality which I think shows in the photos. Taylor came up with the street sign idea and I love it. It was quite hilarious trying to get the shot as I was dodging traffic, but thankfully it wasn’t a horribly busy road. I love how the photos turned out and I’m sure you’ll love them too.

Enjoy!
