The final day of FIND (Film is Not Dead) we headed into downtown Portland and were given an hour or so to wander, experiment, photograph strangers, and shoot personal work. I shot both color film on 35mm and a black and white film I’d never used before, Acros 100, on my Hasselblad. These square format black and whites taken on the Hasselblad are definitely my favorites out of all I shot at the workshop. I have always loved street photographs and portraits, but have never really done it myself until this workshop pushed me out of my comfort zone and I started forcing myself to approach people and ask to take their portrait. I love how these turned out and it’s always fascinating who you’ll meet and the stories you’ll hear. I love this collection of photographs and plan to make more.
